2012 Paralympics Underway in London
Held from 29th August until 9th September, the London 2012 Paralympic Games welcomes 4,200 Paralympic athletes from 166 nations to take part in 20 different sports and a total of 503 Paralympic events in seven venues in the Olympic Park in East London, five central London venues and three venues outside London.

Thirty-nine years ago, we all stood proud on Clifford Park and watched the Union Jack Flag being lowered as our beautiful Bahamian flag was raised. We held our heads high at the sound of our National Anthem, "March on Bahamaland."

The murder trial of Mario Rolle, who is accused of the 2011 murder of Cyril Strachan, is not expected to begin until next year.
Rolle, of Teak Lane, was charged with murder in the Supreme Court yesterday.
